Register for Commencement Week Events

Registration for Commencement Week events, including school celebrations and Commencement, will open early in the spring semester for the Class of 2026 and faculty.

Instructions for graduates to register themselves, and their guests, will be sent to the GW email addresses of eligible bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral students. Summer and fall semester graduates should be aware of their alumni email account limits to be sure they can receive these messages.

Eligibility

Bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral students who had their degree awarded in summer 2025 or will complete all their degree requirements in the fall of 2025, spring of 2026, or summer of 2026, are eligible to participate in school celebrations and Commencement. (The only doctoral candidates from the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences that may walk prior to completing their degree requirements are PsyD and Clinical Psychology students.) They must register themselves and their guests to attend Commencement Week events.

Guests

Graduates will register their guests to attend Commencement Week events. Guests cannot access the registration system. To see how many guest tickets are available for your school celebration and Commencement on the National Mall, please refer to the Commencement Week schedule.

Tickets

Tickets are required for all guests who will be 2 years of age, or older, by Commencement Week 2026. Any guest who will be younger than 2 years old does not require a ticket and must sit in the lap of a ticketed guest.

Virtual Office Hours

From March 25 to April 17, attend a virtual office hours session, where you can review any issues you encounter during registration with a Commencement team member. No appointment is needed, and spots issued are on a first come, first served basis while time allows.

Wednesdays: 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM
Fridays: 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
- *Please note each session will close at the scheduled end time. There is a time limit of 5 minutes per person.
